Aunt Mary [Buhagiar], Uncle Tommy [Vella], and Dad [Virgil Vella] in Alexandria - Dad was in Alexandria together with uncle Tom and aunt Mary during most of World War II

Grandfather Tom [Vella] - my paternal grandfather - in-Nannu Tumas, after whom I was named. He and Grandpa Joseph affectionately called each other "Il-Papru"

Aunt Edith [zija Ettie] - She was my father's oldest sister
This group picture was taken in front of Is Siberia Bar on St Thomas Road, Marsascala, in 1938 [about]. I {Tom} am the little boy in the front row. Mother is first person on the left in front row. Uncle Fred is the third person in back row. Grandpa Joe Zarb, Grandpa Tom Vella, and my dad, Virgil Vella are # 5, 6, 7, in back row.

Nannu Guze - my maternal grandfather, Joseph Zarb. He was blinded during World War I, and was well known in Senglea.

Passport issued to my Grandfather in December, 1898 when he joined the Royal Navy, from which he retired as a Chief Engine Room Artificer
